These ballasts are excellent choice for industrial and commercial applications where high efficacy and reliability is desired but color rendering is not a priority. Since HPS lamps are dimmable down to 30%, if full light intensity is not always required then significant energy saving can be achieved by the built in dimming capability of the ballast providing a simple control of several lamps.
